Simplistic in both design and color – utilizing a black and white scheme paired with drawn basketball and team name – the logo has an old-school ABA vibe to it. Designed by minority owner Jay-Z and inspired by the New York city subway signs from 1957, only time will tell if a change of scenery and a uniform upgrade with take the Nets from Eastern Conference dwellers to Larry O’Brien trophy raisers.

Nike Basketball has unveiled their new “Elite Series” of sneakers that bring about advances in lightweight construction, enhanced fit, dynamic protection and distinctive colors. The Nike Kobe VII, Nike Zoom Hyperdunk and LeBron 9 will all be available in both black and white colorways. What’s dope about them, besides the technology, is that each style worn on court will initially display a special white Swoosh Design. But as the NBA playoffs approach, Nike will celebrate the player’s achievements by replacing the white Swoosh with a gold one.
All three sneakers feature mid-foot shanks and heel counters made of carbon fiber. There’s also the Nike Pro Combat inspired padded collar protection, which is made of molded and articulated form, and strategically placed along the tongue and innersleeves.
The series also had a special sock liner – which combines 3D anatomical fit with non-slip print – for internal traction.
All three Nike Basketball Elite Series shoes – the Nike Kobe VII, Nike Zoom Hyperdunk and LeBron 9 – are available at retail and at www.nikestore.com beginning April 28, 2012.

A Nike shoe designer mocked Derrick Rose’s season-ending ACL injury on Twitter on Sunday, igniting a firestorm of criticism on the social media website.
Jason Petrie, who designed LeBron James’ signature sneakers, tweeted that Rose should have signed with Nike after the Chicago Bulls superstar tore his ACL in the final minutes of Game 1 of Chicago’s Eastern Conference quarterfinals series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Charger Girls uphold a high standard of quality dance performance and community involvement. The Charger organization feels strongly that the cheerleaders should complement the professionalism represented on and off the playing field. During the preliminary audition process, applicants will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship, and individual applications. For finalists, there is an interview process and a final dance audition.

Its go time. Manning has been in Miami this past couple months and weeks training, working out and hanging out – the usual. And he left to attend today’s press conference announcing that he’s no longer with the Colts. Well, here he is landing back in Miami at the Opa-Locka Airport where he proceeded to his home on Miami Beach. And now, things could get serious and the Dolphins might actually pick him up.
